KUALA LUMPUR: Great Wall Motor Malaysia (GWM) says 2024 will be an active one for the company as it plans to vastly expand its local lineup.
The company says it has scheduled to release a new model in each quarter of the year. This includes the likes of the Haval H6 HEV in Q2 and the Tank 300 in Q3.
This is preceded by the announcement and preview of the Ora 07 which will officially be launched by the end of Q1.
Unlike the cute and quirky Ora Good Cat, the Ora 07 has a sportier executive silhoutte with a touch of retro-modern fastback design.
Highlight elements includes a closed grille, oval-shaped headlights, hidden door handles, frameless doors, and an adaptive electric spoiler.
It measures at 4871 mm in length, 1862 mm in width, and 1500 mm in height. Inside the car is adorned with premium leather, a T-shaped hollow center console with rotating panels, and ergonomic seats with massage features for driver and front passenger.
There is also a 1.7 square-metre dome-style panoramic sunroof and a smart air conditioning system.
GWM said safety is a huge part of the Ora 07 having undergone rigorous testing which includes China's first intense EV Rollover Challenge and the Intersection Collision Challenge.
Built-in safety highlights includes advanced sensors, surround cameras, and a cage-style high-strength body.
"Our commitment to safety is manifested in every aspect of the GWM ORA 07, providing peace of mind through innovative technology and intelligent systems," GWM marketing manager Raymond Cheong said.
The electric vehicle (EV) will be available in two variants: Long Range and Performance. Both are available in three colours of sophisticated grey, purple, and white, and are powered by a 83.499 kwh ternary lithium battery.
Focusing on alleviating anxiety the Long Range variant has a range of 640 km while delivering 204 PS of power and 340 Nm of torque.
Those looking for more power will want to check out the Performance model which has a higher power output at 408 PS and 680 Nm of torque. It does have a lower range of up to 550 km.
Prices for either variants will only be made public during the launch.
