KUALA LUMPUR: All schools which were closed due to the worsening haze will operate as usual tomorrow, said Education Ministry in a statement today.
The states are Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan and several states in Sarawak - Sri Aman, Kuching, Betau and Samarahan.
Yesterday, the ministry instructed all primary and secondary schools in the states to be closed after some of the areas in Malaysia hit very unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings above the 200 level.
It said the air quality in Tanjung Malim, Perak has also improved.
The ministry said the decision to reopen schools tomorrow was based on the API readings till noon today which has shown continuous improvement.
"We would also like to make it mandatory for all state and district level education departments to continue monitoring the air conditions nationwide," it added.
