KOTA KINABALU: Yang di-Pertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin launched 'Perreiraara Tun Dr Juhar', a new hybrid orchid named after him in conjunction of Sabah TYT 62nd official birthday celebration.
The flower came up by Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (Mardi), was an intergeneric hybrid of a cross between 'Aerides Lawrenceae' with 'Vandachostylis Five Friendships'.
An interesting bloom with white and pinkish colour blend and of medium size (five centimetre width), where the flowers can last long up to one month.
Tun Juhar made the launching at Sabah Mardi office here, where at the same time he officiated the Celebration of Two Decades of Sabah Mardi.
