KOTA BARU: Kelantan has adopted the move by the federal government to give out RM500 to every state civil servant to prepare for the Hari Raya.
Menteri Besar Datuk Ahmad Yakob told reporters that the state civil servants would receive the payout on July 15.
Meanwhile, state secretary Datuk Mohd Faudzi Che Mamat said about 10,000 state civil servants would benefit fron the move.
"The state government will spend about RM2.5 million for employees who come directly under the state secretariat.
"This does not include those under agencies like the Kelantan Islamic Foundation and the local government authorities," he said when met after the state exco meeting here..
The federal government has announced earlier this month that it will give out a special financial aid of RM500 to every civil servant for preparation of their Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak had said that 684,000 government retirees would also get their share worth RM250 each as the government's way of showing its appreciation for their services.
