PM congratulates Sekolah Seri Puteri Cyberjaya for win in music fest

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today congratulated Sekolah Seri Puteri Cyberjaya who won second place in the Symphonic Bands category at the International Youth Music Festival (IYMF) 2014 in Vienna, Austria.

“Our students make great music too! Congrats to Sekolah Seri Puteri on clinching the second spot at the Vienna Music Fest Awards.

“This culture of excellence displayed by the school’s orchestra is commendable as they came up against more experienced school bands,” Najib said in his latest Facebook posting.

The school’s orchestra, Seri Puteri Symphonic Winds (SP Winds) also won the special award, Jeunesse Austria (Encouragement Award), for its outstanding performance.

Principal Siti Rogayah Yahya who was proud of the girls in the group for their achievement had said SP Winds was the first orchestra from Malaysia to win the special award.

She expressed her gratitude to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his deputy, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and his wife Puan Sri Noorainee Abdul Rahman, who is also SP Winds patron.
