Shopping spree for 18 poor kids

ALOR STAR: Eighteen children of Baitul Ihsan Kampung Perik Orphanage Home were all smiles as they chose their Hari Raya clothes.

The children were taken on a Hari Raya shopping spree at the Alor Star Mall recently by 20 staff of solid waste management company Environment Idaman Sdn Bhd (Envi).

Chief executive officer Mhd Saiful Anuar Zainal said the Envi Prihatin programme was organised to help the needy and bring festive joy to the children.

He said each child was given RM300 for shopping and they could pick their clothing and shoes.

Nur Anis Umairah Rahman, 12, was jubilant when she received two pieces of new clothes, two jeans and a pair of shoes.

“I am very excited to be here because I not only received new clothes but I also got to shop with my friends,” she said.

Wan Muhd Hafiz Haniman, 12, thanked Envi for its generosity.

“I am so grateful for their support. I had so much fun selecting the new clothes,” he said.

The children also received duit raya and goodie bags.
