KUANTAN: Pahang stata-level Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house, traditionally held on the first day of Syawal, has been cancelled.
State secretary Datuk Seri Muhammad Safian Ismail said the open house scheduled at the Sultan Ahmad Shah silver jubilee hall in Jalan Teluk Sisek here, was called off as mark of respect to the victims of flight MH17 and their families.
It is learnt that the Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob’s open house at the Sultan Ahmad Shah silver jubilee hall in Bentong on July 30 has been also cancelled.
The Malaysian Airlines aircraft, with 298 passengers, including 43 Malaysians, was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur when it went down in Donetsk, east Ukraine.
