HULU SELANGOR: A bank in Bukit Beruntung was destroyed after a group of burglars attempted to break in by using an explosive device at 5am today.
Selangor crime investigation department (Intelligence/Operations) deputy chief Assistant Commissioner Roslan Radzi said suspects were using homemade explosives.
“Initial investigation revealed that two bombs were mounted at the withdrawal counter , which one bomb exploded, while the other did not,” he told reporters when met at the scene.
However, Roslan said it is believed that the robbers fled the scene empty handed.
He said police is carrying out thorough investigation including reviewing the closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to detect the suspect.
