I AM writing in reference to the article entitled "Not for Sleeping" in the July 25 edition of Streets.
While the stone benches are quite nice, more thought should have been put into the design of the iron dividers. They are hideous.
I think it is a good idea to prevent vagrants from sleeping on the benches but they can still do so by slipping their slim bodies through the iron dividers.
Malaysia has many talented designers. I am sure some of them will be able to design something nice and inexpensive.
City Hall has obviously spent some money on the benches.
We should be beautifying our city with beautiful things that do not cost too much.
But, these benches with their green iron dividers are just plain ugly.
