BANTING: A man was injured after being shot by a rifle at Jalan Jugra, here, around 5pm yesterday.
According to a source, the 31-year-old man sustained injuries on his forehead from a random shot by three suspects.
"During the incident, the victim was seated in the left passenger seat at the back of a Honda City.
"The car was being driven by the victim's brother-in-law when they heard an explosive sound.
"The driver discovered his brother-in-law was hurt and sent him to Hospital Banting for treatment," the source said.
The source added that three male suspects were detained in relation to the incident.
Meanwhile, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar confirmed the incident occurred.
He said the three suspects, aged between 24 and 34 years old, were arrested and their self made rifle was seized.
The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempt to murder and Section 3 of the Weapons Act for possession of an offensive weapon without license or permit.
