Man arrested for intentionally ramming car into another man's vehicle

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested a man who intentionally rammed his car into another man's vehicle at a condominium parking lot in the Brickfields area on Monday.

Brickfields district police chief, Assistant Commissioner Ku Mashariman Ku Mahmood, said the police received a report of the incident from a 40-year-old man on April 22.

According to him, the incident occurred at 2.15pm, when the complainant and his girlfriend were quarrelling inside the house, causing loud noises.

"The 35-year-old male suspect, who is also another tenant in the house, became enraged by the couple's quarrel.

"The misunderstanding did not stop inside the house, but led to the suspect intentionally ramming his car into the complainant's car as the latter was exiting his parking lot.

"The complainant's vehicle suffered severe damage but the complainant did not sustain any injuries," he said in a statement today.

Acting on the report, Ku Mashariman said, a police team conducting an investigation arrested the suspect in this area at 6.15pm, yesterday.

He said a check found that the suspect had various past criminal records since 2014 and was still wanted for criminal cases in Cheras.

He said the suspect was remanded for three days starting Wednesday until today for investigation under Section 427 of the Penal Code for mischief.

"The investigation paper was referred to the deputy public prosecutor on April 26," he said.

The footage of the incident in a 27-second video went viral on social media yesterday.
