MH17: Family members want remains to be buried close to home

KUCHING: The family of slain Malaysia Airlines MH17 tragedy wants their remains to be buried close to home.

Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Karim said family members of both Tambi Jiee and Ariza Ghazalee who died together with their four children in the tragedy want their remains to be buried in Kampung Semariang here.

"The government have agreed to be responsible for the logistics arrangement."

"We will bring their remains home after they are identified through DNA tests," said Rohani

Rohani said all the victim's families of all the victim have the right to decide how and where they wanted to bury their loved ones.

"They can request to bury in Amsterdam, in Kuala Lumpur or at their respective hometown. We will do our best to accommodate their needs," she added.
