klia2 operating normally despite temporary closure of parking bays

PUTRAJAYA: Aircraft movement at the klia2 is unaffected by the temporary closure of nine parking bays, says Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB).

In a statement last night, the airports operator said it had been advised by the Kuala Lumpur Aviation Fuelling System (KAFS) that there was a pressure drop in the jet fuelling system.

It added that the decision to close the parking bays was taken as a safety precaution, as well as, to allow KAFS to perform a thorough check.

Senior General manager (Operation Services) MAHB Datuk Azmi Murad said today the operations at klia2 was normal as it had additional parking bays that could be utilised.

“klia2 has 80 aircraft parking bays and on average, 60 are used. So, operations can still continue normally at the airport,” he told Bernama.
