Public Works Dept announces temporary road closure in Cameron Highlands

CAMERON HIGHLANDS: The C156 access on Jalan Boh, Seksyen 0.70 connecting Habu to the Boh Tea Estate, here, has been temporarily closed due to a landslide that occurred on Friday.

Pahang Public Works Department (PWD) director Datuk Ir Hafizah Zakaria in a statement today said temporary closure has been implemented as a precautionary measure in response to a recent landslide incident on Friday.

"This temporary closure impacts both lanes (in both directions ) on the C156 access road, specifically at Boh Section 0.70, which serves as a vital connection between Habu and the Boh Tea Estate.

"This road closure was implemented on Jan 19 and slated to last until Feb 2, to make way for the extensive repair works needed," she said.

She said there are no alternative routes available during this period.

"As a result, drivers are strongly advised to adhere to on-site signage and follow instructions provided by the authorities on the ground.

"This cooperative effort aims to mitigate the risk of any unforeseen incidents and ensures that road users navigate the area with caution," she added.

Hafizah advised the public to remain vigilant, comply with all safety guidelines, and to stay informed about any updates or changes that may arise via official channels.

"Local authorities, including the PWD are diligently working to expedite the repair works to minimise disruptions. Road users are encouraged to stay tuned to official announcements and exercise patience during this temporary inconvenience," she said.
