Video of nudists frolicking in Teluk Bahang goes viral; police to investigate

GEORGE TOWN: A video of a group of 18 nudists frolicking in a secluded beach, claimed to be in Pantai Kerachut near Teluk Bahang on Penang island has gone viral on the social media.

Penang Police Chief, Datuk Abdul Rahim Hanafi said an investigation will be conducted on the video.

A user, identified only as Albert, had uploaded the 5.25 minute long video, titled "Penang Nude Sports Games 2014" on to Vimeo about two months ago, and thanked one Miss Chew for organising the event and the "naturists for coming and making it a history in Malaysia".

According to a review made by one Justin, the group had assembled at the Teluk Bahang jetty before they took a boat ride to a secret spot at Pantai Kerachut.

Upon arrival, the group was greeted by a "ranger" before they gathered at a hut to start stripping.

The nudists later took turns to paint their bodies before they took to the beach for some sports games, which included swim-over-body challenge and passing-the-baton.

They also took a nude walk along the two kilometre beach and had the "ranger" helped them with some of the chores, including setting up a bonfire.

It is not immediately known if the nudists were locals or if the person Justin had described as "ranger" was an officer of the State Wildlife Department.

Justin also bragged about how "for once, they got to enjoy the natural environment and atmosphere just as how Nature intended it to be."

Meanwhile, State Local Government and Housing Committee chairman Chow Kon Yeow, when asked on the video, said he was not aware of the event or that it had set tongues wagging after it went viral on the Internet.

"I am sure the police will take note of it," he said.
