JOHOR BARU: MERDEKA Day is just around the corner and what a better way to celebrate our 57th Independence day than by having a delicious spread of Malaysian favourites for high tea.
The D’mezzanine Coffee House on level 2 of the Grand BlueWave Hotel Johor Baru is having a National Day High-Tea Buffet on Aug 31.
The buffet is from noon to 4pm.
Dig into rojak mamak, rojak buah, lemang, ketupat, serunding ayam and serunding daging for starters.
There will be four live stalls serving laksa johor with condiments, pisang, keledek, keladi as well as cucur udang and chili sauce.
The main dishes among others include ayam rendang berempah, sayur lodeh, beef lasagna and
nasi briyani.
To finish off there are fresh fruit, fruit jelly shooters, sago gula Melaka and more.
The price is RM50++ per adult and RM35++ per child.
There is also a bento set promotion which is available at the eatery until month end.
At just RM38++ per set, one can enjoy the authentic Japanese lunch box set without having to go to Japan.
There is unagi bento (eel), tofu steak (fried Japanese tofu with sweet sauce), Japanese rice set, pickle, salad, miso soup, chawan mushi (Japanese-style steamed egg) and fruit slices.
The sozai bento consist of ika garlic fry (grilled calamari served with garlic butter), gindara teriyaki (grilled codfish), shishamo (pregnant fish), salad, Japanese rice set, miso soup, chawan mushi and sliced fruits.
The special tempura bento consists of tempura, tempura moriwase (prawns and assorted vegetables tempura), tori karaage (Japanese-style deep-fried nuggets), chuka idako (seasoned baby octopus), miso soup, salad, a Japanese rice set, chawan mushi and sliced fruits.
Shake bento comes with the salmon teriyaki, agedashi tofu (deep-fried soft tofu coated with potato starch), salad, Japanese rice set, miso soup, chawan mushi and fruits.
