Tropicana Foundation treats underprivileged children to Ramadan buffet

PETALING JAYA: Underprivileged children from four orphanages were treated to a special breaking of fast buffet hosted by Tropicana Foundation in partnership with Tropicana Golf & Country Resort (TGCR).

The event was held at the resort's coffee house here yesterday and organised together with new sponsor F&N.

TGCR executive director Yew Kong Chee said the resort was delighted to uphold this tradition of more than 10 years, and is committed to share the joy of its Ramadan buffet with everyone.

"We are proud to be the home of the largest Ramadan buffet in Petaling Jaya and this is made possible by all the commitments and contributions of our TGCR team.

"In continuing our mantra of 'Redefining the Art of Living, Caring & Sharing', we invited 107 children from four homes to buka puasa with us," he added.

The children were from Pusat Tahfiz Darus Syabab, Pusat Jagaan Cahaya Kasih, Rumah Sentuhan Budi and Pusat Jagaan Cahaya Kasih Bistari.

Besides the delicious buffet spread, they were also given duit raya and daily essentials. As the children enjoyed their meal, they were also entertained with ghazal performances.

Themed Santapan 29 Malam – Selera Muhibbah, the buffet offers more than 300 dishes served in 26 stalls, and it will be held until April 7.

From local to international cuisine, there is a vibrant selection of dishes to savour, such as nasi lemak pandan bungkus, nasi kerabu with condiments, nasi pulao yoghurt, mutton karahi, daging rogan josh, ayam bakar danok, siakap kukus cili limau, Thai curry seafood otak, tapai pulut, churros and akok.

The coffee house is decorated with a traditional kampung house entrance, and facilities, such as a new central surau, ample free parking and buggy shuttle services, are available.
