SHOWBIZ: Bella Awards gets three nominations

LEADING the way at the inaugural Spark Awards, ntv7’s Bella Awards 2013 is honoured with three nods for Best Corporate Branding By A Media Owner, Best Media Solution — Print and Best Media Solution — Radio.

Spark Awards, which honours top media owners in Southeast Asia based on compelling content, innovative solutions, products effectiveness and standout team performances, is on Aug 28, with a gala dinner in Westin Hotel, Singapore.

ntv7 and 8TV group general manager Airin Zainul says: “We are humbled by the multiple recognitions given to Bella Awards — Malaysia’s inaugural women’s awards show — held for the first time in 2013 to celebrate and honour women who have contributed to society.

“Although the team is experienced in hosting and producing a variety of programmes, the challenge to create and produce a large-scale awards show like Bella Awards is not easy. The team started from zero and slowly established the framework, content, mechanics, branding, publicity and other important elements to produce a show that would leave a mark in the industry and an impact to our viewers. All these will not be possible without a dedicated and committed team behind the show.”

With 26 contested categories, the Spark Awards will be a night of glitz, celebrating outstanding works by media owners across Southeast Asia including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Malaysia — while forging closer ties between media owners of these countries.

“This is a brilliant platform that gathers all media owners in one place to learn and inspire one another, generate ideas, create solutions, integration and many more,” says Airin.

In addition, the best performing organisation or media owner will win the coveted Best In Show title.

Headed by renowned individuals from media agencies across Southeast Asia, the jury line-up consists of 13 judges.

ntv7 continues to dominate both the urban English-speaking and Chinese audiences by initiating bold projects such as the charitable Feel Good Run, community-centred Yuan Carnival and Bella Bundle Of Joy, the nation’s largest gathering of pregnant women as certified by The Malaysia Book Of Records.

This year, it will stage one of the most-anticipated events of the year — Golden Awards 2014, a prestigious ceremony to celebrate the outstanding works of those who have contributed to the Malaysian Chinese TV industry, on Sept 20.

ntv7, which celebrated its 16th anniversary in July, also received multiple recognitions from international and local platforms including Putra Brand Awards, Asian Television Awards, Sichuan TV Festival Gold Panda Awards, Shanghai TV Festival, Asia Rainbow TV Awards, Anugerah Skrin and Shout! Awards.
