KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has garnered unrelenting support from fellow Umno leaders following remarks made by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"His qualities of inclusiveness and sound judgment has maintained Barisan National at the forefront of the Malaysian government, simultaneously continuing to uphold the safety and development of the rakyat," Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said.
Shahrizat said that Wanita respects and appreciates comments from any parties, more-so from the former prime minister himself.
Puteri Umno chief Mas Ermieyati Samsudin also echoed Wanita's support for Najib, saying that in the event of unfortunate calamities that befell our country, Najib continues to act as a leader.
"Najib has done his best in dealing with everything, including cementing the people's confidence in Barisan Nasional. He is a leader who openly accepts every comment and critique thrown at him. ," she said in a Facebook post yesterday.
"Tun Mahathir too has faced many challenges in the past. The way they (Najib and Mahathir) handle these challenges differ, seeing that times have changed," she said, ending the post by expressing respect and reverence for both leaders.
