NUSAJAYA: Police came across an unknown charred body that was believed to have been trapped in a home in Bandar Selesa Jaya here after a fire broke out today.
It is learnt that the incident occurred at about 1pm as the occupants of the house was not around.
It is learnt that the authorities are still trying to determine the sex and identity of the charred remains.
Nusajaya criminal investigations department chief Assistant Superitendent Abdul Halid Ludin said police have sent the charred remains to the forensics unit of the Sultanah aminah Hospital to determine the victim's cause of death and identity.
“At the moment, police have classified the incident as sudden death and police will be investigating all angles to determine the events that led to the victim's death,” he said.
