SHAH ALAM: MH17 pilot, Capt Wan Amran Wan Hussin was a well loved figure in his neighbourhood.
"He was a real nice person, very humble and always wearing a nice smile," said a security guard who declined to be named at Wan Amran's Shah Alam residence.
The guard said that Wan Amran was so popular, that people came to the neighbourhood in the droves to offer their condolences the day after the tragic incident.
"He really treasured his family, I would often see him walking with his two boys around the neighbourhood."
"The whole community here is shocked with what has happened."
The guard said that Wan Amran's family has requested for complete privacy and did not allow any unauthorised personnel into the neighbourhood.
"We hope that people will give his family space and privacy to grieve."
Wan Amran's remains are amongst those whose homecoming has been delayed.
