MH17: NSTLive brings Malaysians together

KUALA LUMPUR: The NSTLive session that was held in conjunction with the return of 20 remains of MH17 victims has touched many hearts with tears and prayers.

Held from 6am to 4pm, the session attracted over 40,000 pageviews and condolence messages to the grieving families.

Tan Kwan Seng said as "1Malaysia", Malaysians should pray for comfort to all the family members during this time of bereavement.

“Stand strong, we mourn and pray for the departed souls and everyone affected, ‪#‎MH17,” he said.

Nora Yusof also expressed her sadness to the tragedy.

“My heart is aching, may Allah grant the families who have lost their loved ones be granted the strength, support, courage and love to carry on, and the skies mourn too,” she said.

Leng Yein said although he might not know anyone on the flight, he sympathised with the families.

“I feel the pain of a loss like everyone else in our beloved country Malaysia, come home and May you rest in peace,” Yein said.

Meanwhile, Muna Aqila Mohd Dzahir said Malaysians had been waiting for all the victims to come home.

“Welcome home, my brothers and sisters. We have been waiting for you and now please rest in peace. Al-Fatihah,” she said.

“We bid you farewell my friends, it was an honour to fly with each and every one of you. Till we meet again, rest well. You will be missed,” said Dila at MH17 NST Live.

Najumuddin Abdullah said today is dedicated to those who perished on July 17.

“Today, we are together to honour and to respect them, we love them before and we'll continue to love them and it’s beyond words.

“You will remain close to our hearts always, we will never forget and let us remember and love them the way they were, not the way we lost them,” he said.

Najumuddin ended his comments with prayers “Dear Allah, we seek your forgiveness and we seek your mercy to bless our loved ones as You are The Most Forgiving and The Most Merciful.”
