KUALA LUMPUR: The Gombak District office today raided an illegal dumpsite along the 8th Mile of Jalan Gombak.
The massive dumping ground is located on 10 acres (4.04 ha) of private land, on a hilltop.
Large heaps of construction waste can be seen on the land.
Flies were seen swarming the rubbish heap which discharged an unbearable stench.
Leading the raid was Gombak District Officer, Datuk Nor Hisham.
"There are over 170 registered owners of parcels of land here and they will all be given a show cause letter."
"We will give them a chance to remedy the land, if not we will seize the land according to the law."
Nor Hisham said that the land was meant for agricultural purposes.
