KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysia Competition Commission (MyCC) yesterday announced the appointment of four new members of commission (MOCs).

MyCC also re-appointed four of its MOCs, including chairman Tan Sri Siti Norma Yaakob.

Among the four new MOCs was deputy secretary-general of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry Datuk Azmi Lateh, whose appointment was effective May 28.

Also appointed was tribunal president for the Consumer Court, Datuk Ahmad Hisham Kamaruddin, effective August 11.

MyCC said Ahmad Hisham’s extensive legal knowledge would be highly beneficial to the commission.

The other two members are Malaysian Institute of Economic Research executive director Dr Zakariah Abdul Rashid (effective June 27) and Datuk Dr Gan Khuan Poh, an economist and corporate consultant with more than three decades of experience in both public and private sectors (effective May 15).
