Several Selangor NGOs lash out at PKR and DAP for defying Sultan

SHAH ALAM: Several Selangor non-governmental organisations (NGO) regarded PKR and DAP's insistence on submitting only one name for the menteri besar post as an act of defiance against the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah and should be dealt with accordingly by the palace.

Persatuan Anak Selangor Menyokong Menteri Besar (Pasmeb) president Mazli Saring said that those who were insolent and dared to defy the Sultan's decree should not be allowed to be in the state.

"Their action towards the sultan is utterly rude and unacceptable.

"It is even more disgraceful because the ones who are showing no respect to the Sultan are not even Selangorians themselves.

"These people need to realize that the highest institution in the state governance is the palace. I think they should know this themselves since their academic qualification proved that they are not supposed to be ignorant," said Mazli.

He was accompanied by representatives from other NGOs such as Angkatan Rakyat Sedar (ARAS).

Its president Abdul Rahim Abdul Wahab claimed that PKR and DAP should stop being arrogant towards the Sultan.

"When your boss is asking for two names and you are giving only one, what does that imply? The order is clear and you are still not following it. You are obviously being rude," he said.

The NGOs also announced their plan to hold a gathering at the Sultan Sulaiman Stadium this Saturday to show support and loyalty to the Sultan of Selangor.

In light of the menteri besar crisis, the Sultan's role in maintaining order in the state's administration has never been more paramount.
