IPOH: The Perak government will issue a circular to all agencies, associations and business operators to ensure their premises are cleaned weekly.
State Health Committee chairman Datuk Dr Mah Hang Soon said monthly gotong-royong would also be held starting next month.
"These steps are needed to ensure no innocent lives are wasted or at least lower the number of dengue cases," he said.
Dr Mah was speaking at the launch of the state level fight against dengue campaign here today.
Dr Mah added that until Aug 23, 3,657 dengue cases had been reported compared to 1,151 during the same period last year.
"Eight deaths had been recorded this year compared to zero last year," he said.
