Vivo Day at

JOHOR BARU: FOR more than 10 years, the Vivo American Pizza & Panini outlet at Plaza Pelangi has been pleasing customers with its menu of more than 100 items including American-style pizza, pasta, panini as well as rice items to cater to Malaysian palates.

Their baked rice and pasta are dishes that remained popular with customers since its introduction at the opening of Vivo’s first outlet more than 20 years ago.

Vivo celebrated Vivo Day at the Plaza Pelangi outlet to thank their loyal customers recently, where they enjoyed 50 per cent discount on all items in the menu.

Vivo is an American quick service restaurant that originated from Chicago and lives up to its concept where meals are served in the shortest possible time.

Items are presented in a pictorial menu for easy selection and are served with generous toppings on the pizzas, using fresh ingredients and where the portions are good value for money.

This is satisfying for discerning customers and reflects the sentiment of their tagline, “Live with Passion!”

Pizzas, made from a closely guarded recipe, are particularly popular at Vivo not only because they are 33 per cent bigger compared to other brands but because they are evenly topped with more ingredients.

If you choose the prawn premium pizza, you can be assured that there are whole crustaceans on every slice of the fluffy pastry.

There is a menu of pizza flavour combinations to pick from and if you enjoy a distinct but delicious smoky flavour from the slices of smoked chicken among chopped capsicum and melted cheese, then you should not miss the Smoked Chicken BBQ pizza.

Made with fresh shiitake mushrooms, aromatic pesto sauce, cream cheese and almond flakes, the thin crust Bed of Mushrooms pizza is also a vegetarian favourite.

If you have a hankering for sweet pizza, Vivo even has a delightful Choco Almond Dessert Pizza topped with marshmallows and whole almonds, and drizzled with chocolate and peanut butter sauce.

Some of Vivo’s popular mains include the Baked Chicken Chop that comes in a choice of black pepper or mushroom sauces served with a side of buttered rice and salad greens.

A symbol of tiny chillies in the menu indicates a spicy flavour so if you prefer, try the Seafood Spaghetti Aglio Olio tossed with salmon chunks, mussels and plump prawns.

A mild version is pasta with New Zealand mussels and prawns and if you have time, try the seafood baked pasta that may take a little longer to prepare but the wait is worth each bite!

There is also a variety of delicious hot and cold drinks to choose from including tall ice-blended thirst-quenchers like chilled Cappuccino and the Choco Brownie Mallows that appears in its actual size on the menu.

It is easy to see why the Volcanic Chocolate with ice cream is a popular dessert because of the irresistible warm chocolate lava served with a side of vanilla ice cream.

Cake lovers can also pick from a choice of luxury slices including favourites like the tangy Mango Mousse and the delicious New York Caramel Cheesecake.

Vivo has established a halal chain of 13 outlets in Johor, Malacca, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur with the latest outlet opened in Bukit Mertajam, Penang, in early June.

Vivo Days are held annually at every outlet where loyal customers get to dine on their favourite items in the menu and pay only half the listed prices for an entire day.
