JELEBU: Datuk Menteri Sah Mangku Alam Raja Sehari Tuan Haji Tarmizi Selamat has been announced as the acting Undang Luak Jelebu following the passing of Yang Teramat Mulia Dato' Musa Wahab at age 77 yesterday.
Tarmizi will be holding the title of Yang Teramat Mulia Datok Mendika Akhirulzaman Dato' Undang Luak Jelebu.
The announcement was made by Yang Mulia Dato' Ombi Pangkal Maharaja Lela Kadim Kidam earlier today.
District officer Mohd Roduan Ujang said the next heir to the Undang Luak Jelebu will be chosen by a council of eight Dato' Adat.
Mohd Roduan said Musa was pronounced dead at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital in Seremban at about 9pm, after he was rushed there following a cardiac arrest.
Musa was taking ablution at his house in Gedong Lalang in Ampangan, near here, about 7.30am, when he suddenly fell and became unconscious.
He was installed as the Undang Luak Jelebu according to the customs of the state on Nov 20, 1981.
Meanwhile, Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan when met after paying his last respect at Balai Undang Luak here earlier today offered the state government's condolences to Musa's family and the people of Jelebu.
He said the passing of Musa, who had many contributions to the state, was a great loss.
Musa’s body will be buried at the Simpang Empat Glami cemetery after Friday prayers today.
