LRT work may slow down trains

KUALA LUMPUR: Commuters travelling from the Titiwangsa station to Sentul Timur LRT station might experience slightly longer dwell time, stop in between stations, or experience the train slowing down during peak hours from tomorrow to Nov 30 due to the replacement of the scissor cross-over assembly at the Sentul Timur LRT Station.

Rapid Rail chief executive officer Khairani Mohamed said this was to allow the train captains to switch positions at the Sentul Timur platform area instead of the stabling area which would be temporarily closed for the replacement of the scissor cross-over assembly.

He added that the replacement was necessary as the existing assembly was nearing its end of life.

Khairani said the park-and-ride facilities would be tentatively closed between Oct 17 and 27 to facilitate the delivery and unloading of materials for the assembly replacement.
