Decision-makers meet on SOP for handling national exam papers

PUTRAJAYA: The special meeting to scrutinise and improve the standard operating procedure (SOP) in handling national examination papers has started.

Chaired by deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also the Education Minister, the meeting started at 11.45am.

Present at the special meeting were high-ranking Education Ministry officials namely Second Education Minister Datuk Seri Idris Jusoh, Deputy Education Minister Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching, Deputy Education Minister II P. Kamalanathan, and secretary-general Tan Sri Dr Madinah Mohamad.

A total of 473,715 UPSR candidates and pupils in 8,384 schools nationwide will re-sit the 014/1 and 014/2 English papers, as well as the 018, 028 and 038 Science papers after the papers were found to have been leaked.

The Malaysian Examinations Board (MEB) has fixed Sept 30 as the new date for the re-sits of the two subjects.
