SEREMBAN: A 23-year-old picnicker who suffered serious injuries after being hit by a boat in Port Dickson last week died early today.
Muhammad Hidayat Ramlan was pronounced dead at 5.40am while receiving treatment at the Hospital Tuanku Jaafar here.
The incident occured at Pantai Dataran, Teluk Kemang on Sept 7.
Port Dickson deputy police chief Deputy Superintendent Zulkifli Adamsah said police will reclassify the case following the death.
The case was previously being investigated under Section 280 of the Penal Code for reckless boat handling.
Yesterday, a 21-year-old boat operator, Mohd Amirul Yasli, pleaded guilty at the Magistrate's Court here to causing grievous hurt to the victim.
