Temple gives RM20,000 to Lions Club

KUALA LUMPUR: The Lions Club of Kuala Lumpur received a generous donation of RM20,000 from the Leng Chun Teng temple recently.

The temple, which is located in Segambut, made the contribution in conjunction with the establishment’s 10th anniversary celebration.

Receiving the cheque on behalf of Lions Club was Lau Chung Keong, president of its Kuala Lumpur chapter. Also present were club treasurer Arthur Chin and member Go Tong Sun.

Lau said this was not the first time that the temple had donated to the club, as it had donated RM15,000 in 2011 and another RM15,000 the following year.

“We really appreciate the temple’s support. Part of the money will go to our project fund and another portion will be given to the KL Lions Renal Centre, which is in the midst of moving to its new premises in Jalan Ipoh,” he said.

KL (Host) is one of 12 participating Lions Clubs based in Kuala Lumpur helping to raise funds in financing the daily operations of the renal centre, which is overseen by the KL Lions Foundation.

Apart from the Lions Club, the Leng Chun Teng Temple also made donations to two other charitable organisations, amounting to RM80,000. By Ricky Yap
