Update on MH17: Remains of 3 arrive home, one-minute silence observed

SEPANG: Relatives and friends of three MH17 victims, led by Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, observed a one-minute silence at 8.48am as soon as all the caskets were transferred into hearses.

Earlier, the commercial plane taxied at Bunga Raya Complex at 8.30am carrying remains of Muhammad Afzal Tambi, Marsha Azmeena Tambi, both of whom were children of Tambi Jiee, who also died in the same tragedy, and Shaikh Mohd Noor Mahmood, a crew member.

The first to be brought out was the the casket carrying remains of Shaikh Mohd Noor to the waiting pallbearers.

After the one-minute silence, the hearses left the complex, passed by the stand where the crowd gathered.

Shaikh Mohd Noor's remains is expected to be brought to Klang for burial while the two siblings would be brought to their hometown in Kuching, Sarawak.
