In Shah Alam, Khalid given a rousing farewell

SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim was given a rousing farewell at the state secretariat building here, today.

About 1,000 civil servants thronged the lobby, which was decorated with festive red and yellow balloons, to bid Khalid goodbye on his last day as the head of state.

The crowd gave rousing and deafening cheers as he appeared in the lobby around 4.20pm after several exit media interviews.

He took about seven minutes to shake hands and wade through the sizeable crowd to reach the microphone set up for farewell speeches.

State Secretary Datuk Khusrin Munawi thanked Khalid for his clear policies and transparency.

"Tan Sri (Khalid) is a Menteri Besar that has made transformation in Selangor.

"I have worked with him for four years and I feel totally at ease because (he ensured) there is no political interference," he told the civil servants present.
