KEMAMAN: A 46-year-old woman with her 33-year-old foster son were killed on the spot when their motorcycle was involved in a crash near Kampung Labuhan, here, on Monday night.
In the 11pm incident which occured at KM107, Jalan Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan, the victims identified as pillion rider Nariah Hamzah and Zawawi Mohamad were headed towards Paka in Dungun.
According to Nariah's nephew, Addy Sulaiman, 48, the Yamaha Lagenda which they were riding on was rammed by a Perodua MyVi driven by a woman.
Addy said Nariah had contacted him at 10pm and invited his family to a late supper with her in Paka town.
However, Addy and his wife became worried when Nariah did not answer his calls.
Upon hearing about an accident in Kampung Labuhan, he decided to check and was shocked to find the victims were Nariah and her foster son.
Meanwhile, Distrit police chief Superintendent Che Suza Che Hitam who confirmed the incident said the case was being investiagted under Section 41(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
