KIDEX seeks views from the public

KUALA LUMPUR: KIDEX Sdn Bhd is keen to receive constructive opinions and suggestions with regards to the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (KIDEX).

In a statement today, chief operating officer, Dr Shaharizuan Shafiei, said the company was also keen to address any questions or misinformation that the people may have.

Dr Shaharizuan said the government has implemented various initiatives in line with its aspirations to achieve developed nation status.

"Within the ambit of the Economic Transformation Plan and the government’s plan for the Greater Klang Valley, transportation has been identified to be one of the major driving forces behind the progress of our nation," he said.

Towards this end, he said, KIDEX was one of the integral infrastructure projects with a view towards alleviating traffic woes for the near and long-term future of the Klang Valley.

KIDEX is an elevated highway consisting of 14.9km of main line, accompanied by 11.2km of ramps, which begins from the North Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) near Damansara and ends at Lebuhraya Bukit Jalil near Kinrara.

It will be fully elevated and 90 per cent of the KIDEX alignment will be built on road reserves.

Once operational, KIDEX will cater to the North-South catchment of the Klang Valley, which currently has limited connectivity, to accommodate the constantly growing traffic.
