Weekend watch: Jason Mraz says Yes!

AMERICAN singer-songwriter Jason Mraz launched his fifth studio album, Yes!, earlier this year. With a mission to promote healthy lifestyle, his latest acoustic album talks about sustainable living and giving back to society.

Catch his exclusive live performances in Jason Mraz And Raining Jane — Live @ Mraz Organic Avocado Ranch TV Special tomorrow at 10am on 8TV. The 30-minute show features Mraz performing songs from his latest album such as Love Someone, Long Drive and Back To The Earth.

Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull airs tomorrow at 11pm on TV2.

Set in 1957 during the Cold War, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) and his partner Mac (Ray Winstone) are kidnapped by Soviet agents under Colonel Dr Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett).

Jones is forced to retrieve the Crystal Skull from Warehouse 51. In his attempt to escape, Jones finds himself trapped in a Nevada Nuclear Test Site. Meanwhile, the FBI suspects Jones of working with the Soviets and is constantly watching over his every move.

Fail Riz airs tomorrow at 8.30pm on TV9. Starring Alif Satar, Roy Azman, Amar Titan and Azza Elite, the series is about Riz, who dreams of becoming a private investigator. Together with a friend, he starts a private investigator firm. However, everything falls apart when Riz is asked to care for his three nephews when their maid vanishes.

In Tabuh Merdeka, which airs tomorrow at 10pm on TV Al-Hijrah, friends Arif and Osman join the Malaysian Civil Service. They learn the meaning of patriotrism through their everyday work as civil service officers.

8TV documentary, Step Forward, returns for the 10th season. Airing on Sunday at 9.30pm, host Baki Zainal goes on an extraordinary journey across Asia to discover hidden gems. From white water rafting in Padas and Kiulu to traditional bagang fishing in Sabah, Baki has everything covered. Also not to be missed is the Baram Regatta boat race in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, Mehndi will air on TV2 on Sunday at 2.30pm. In this 1998 Kollywood film, Rani Mukerji plays Pooja, a newly-wed looking forward to married life with husband Niranjan (Faraz Khan). All is well at first but one day, her in-laws demand that her dowry be paid up immediately.

More bad luck follows when Niranjan is thrown in jail for a crime he did not commit. Only one person can prove his innocence — Rajeshwar (Shahbaz Khan), a photographer who has a series of photographs that point to the culprit.

Later at 10pm, catch Jackie Chan in City Hunter on 8TV. Directed by Wong Jing, this 1993 action comedy is based on the Japanese manga of the same title. Private investigator Ryu Saeba and his assistant, Kaori, search for the missing daughter of a Japanese publishing magnate. When Ryu finally catches up with her, Shizuko escapes under disguise and boards a luxurious cruise liner.

Drew Carey’s Improv-A-Ganza is on at 9.30pm on ntv7 on Sunday. Similar to Whose Line Is It Anyway?, the show features performers in improvisational comedy sketches. Filmed at the MGM Grand Las Vegas, Carey will also be taking part as a performer.

Once Upon A Time (Season 2) (ntv7, 11pm)

In Storybrooke, the residents are characters from various fairytales. Having broken the curse that robs its residents’ memories, Emma and the residents find themselves stuck in the real world. With the appearance of Captain Hook and the Queen Of Hearts, Storybrooke is once again thrown into chaos. Starring Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle and Sarah Bolger.

King Of Beggars (8TV, 8.30pm)

The spoiled and illiterate So Chan takes the national examinations for Martial Arts Scholar in Beijing. He passes the physical test but officials learn that he cheated in the written exam. The Emperor then sentences Chan to be a beggar. With help from an elderly beggar, he rises to be King Of Beggars. Starring Stephen Chow, Sharla Cheung and Ng Man-tat.

Serendipity (TV9, 10pm)

Jonathan Trager and Sara Thomas reunite years after they first met.Starring John Cusack, Kate Beckinsale and Jeremy Piven.

Beauty Shop (TV2, 2pm)

Just when you think you’ve heard it all, make your way to Gina’s barbershop where quirky tales — sometimes funny and other times sad — are shared. Instead of getting their hair washed and cut, the customers at Gina’s Beauty Shop prefers to sit around and chat. Starring Queen Latifah, Alicia Silverstone and Djimon Hounsou.

The Making Of... The Equalizer (8tv, 10am)

Catch behind-the-scene and interviews with the cast of this action thriller directed by Antoine Fuqua, who is known for his works such as Olympus Has Fallen, King Arthur and Tears Of The Sun.

A Date With Lu Yu: Eason Chan (8TV, 3pm)

What goes on in the mind of Hong Kong’s God Of Songs, Eason Chan? Get a glimpse of his life as singer and actor who has made a name for himself since his debut in 1995.

Acoustic (TV9, 10pm)

A collection of stories about love and hope, this musical drama features members of popular K-pop groups, 2AM and CNBlue. This three-part coming-of-age movie focuses on the eclectic youth culture in Seoul’s Hongdae area and how aspiring musicians make their dreams come true.
