KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit closed lower against the US dollar yesterday, in tandem with other emerging Asian currencies as the greenback strenghtened and registered a fresh four-year high against major currencies.
At 5pm, the ringgit was quoted at 3.2790/2810 against the greenback from 3.2580/2610 last Friday.
Meanwhile, the local unit was also traded lower against other major currencies.
The ringgit fell against the yen to 2.9902/9933 from last Friday’s 2.9884/9917 and slipped against the euro to 4.1561/1590 from 4.1533/1584.
It depreciated against the British pound to 5.3208/3247 from 5.3193/3246 and was lower against the Singapore dollar to 2.5691/5715 from 2.5645/5673 previously. Bernama
