SEPANG: Teacher Shalwati Norshal, 46, who was jailed for abusing her children in Sweden arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) today.
Shalwati, clad in a black jacket was greeted by her husband Azizul Raheem Awalludin upon arriving via Emirate Airlines from Dubai at about 1.41pm.
“I am excited to come home and cannot wait to see my children soon,” she said in between tears.
She was released from prison at 9.35am local time (3.35pm Malaysia time) on Monday after serving 14 months at Hinseberg Prison in Frovi, Sweden.
The couple were detained on Dec 18 last year and the trial ended with conviction on March 28 this year, at the Solna District Court in Stockholm.
Azizul was sentenced to 10 months imprisonment, has been released early on good behaviour in July.
