ALOR STAR: A 47-year-old South African national today claimed trial at the Sessions Court here to illegal possession of seven rifles and 1,305 rounds of ammunition at a luxury yacht in Kuah, Langkawi on Sept 18.
Julus Katzke is charged under Section 8 of the Firearms Act (Increased Penalty) 1971 (Act 37) for the possession of seven rifles stored in two boxes seized from 'Mischief' yacht which berthed at Pontoon A 25 of Royal Langkawi Yatch Club about 12.30pm on that day.
For the second charge, he is accused with an illegal possession of 1,305 round of various type and sized of ammunition which were stacked in a gunny inside the same yacht.
He is charged under Section 8(a) of the Firearms Act 1960 (Act 206) for the second offence.
The court fixed Nov 4 for mention.
