TUMPAT: The government will allocate RM1 million for the construction of a community hall for the Siamese community at the Machimmaram temple at Kampung Jubakar here.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak who make the announcement said it was in appreciation of the community for their continuous support to the Barisan Nasional government.
"The government will continue to assist the Siamese community here and in other states, " he said in a meeting with the community at the temple here today.
Najib later attended asar prayers at the Kampung Simpangan mosque here and visited the pondok started by recently appointed Pengkalan Kubor state assemblyman Mat Razi Mat Ail.
In a brief speech at the mosque, he said the government will continue to give priority to Islam.
