More assets to enhance security in Sabah

SEMPORNA: Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar said more assets will be dispatched to enhance security coverage in the east coast of Sabah.

He said bigger allocations made available in the recent 2015 Budget announcement will be used to acquire better radars, as well as other assets to better protect the state from intruders.

" The curfew imposed on the east coast of Sabah will also continue until such time we feel it is no longer necessary, " he said at the Pulau Mabul General Operations Force base here.

Khalid earlier visited several island outposts and inspected auxiliary vessel Bunga Mas 5 that has been commissioned to conduct security operations off the coast here.

He was accompanied by Sabah police commissioner Datuk Jalalluddin Abdul Rahman and other senior police officers.
