Temporary hospital to be set up during Umno General Assembly

KUALA LUMPUR: A temporary hospital will be set up during the 57th Umno General Assembly, scheduled to be held late next month.

Announcing this during a briefing for media personnel, Umno executive secretary Datuk Ab Rauf Yusoh said the temporary hospital would accomodate 20 beds, and serviced by five doctors, three physicians and 32 nurses.

The hospital would also be equipped with a pharmacy and four ambulances.

"This was following the feedback given to us by the emergency medical response unit who were stationed during last year's assembly, and found that there was an increase in the number of treatments given to visitors.

"The secretariat has agreed to set up this temporary hospital for early treatment, before receiving further attention at the hospital," Ab Rauf told reporters at Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC) here today.

He asaid the media centre would be divided into two zones, Zone A for mainstream media and Zone B for online news portals.

Rauf also said that they would tighten the security in the media centre and would conduct random checks on those entering in and out of the area.
