SHOWBIZ: Interactive musical showcase

HOMEGROWN vocal group Tapestry, will entertain from tonight to Sunday in a concert titled Human After All. The a cappella group performs music ranging from pop songs to rock, jazz, musical theatre and doo wop.

Tapestry started in 2012, with an informal production, Christmas Tapestry, at Enfiniti Academy in Kota Damansara, Petaling Jaya.

Last year, it had the sold-out 650-strong Stereo And Popcorn at Damansara Performing Arts Centre in Damansara Perdana, PJ.

Human After All is a musical showcase that examines the breakdown of relationships despite the constant connection between people who are feeling isolated and lonely.

It includes songs that are interlaced with narrative stories, dramatised vignettes, and direct interaction with the audience - under the direction of award-winning choreographer and director Michael Xavier Voon. There will be visuals, lighting and live-processing vocal effects for a more engaging experience.

“The music field is really growing but, with globalisation — the way the world is so connected and how things happening around are impacting us as well — I believe the Malaysian audience is ready to see things that have not been tried before,” says music director Charity Lee.

Human After All is at Damansara Performing Arts Centre. Tickets for the 8.30pm and 3pm show are RM45 and RM55.
