New township offers affordable landed property

KEPALA BATAS: A leading developer of townships in the northern states, Bertam Properties Sdn Bhd, is rolling out a RM60 million mixed development project in Bertam, near here.

Bertam Properties chief executive officer Datuk Roslan Ibrahim said the Bertam Perdana township would be built on a 1,500ha site and offer both housing and commercial units.

The project will be developed in phases, with full completion scheduled for 2016, he said.

The residential unit types available are single-storey terrace, bungalow and low-cost units.

In Phase 2A, 15 units of two-storey bungalows will be built at Bertam Lakeside. These are expected to be ready and OC-approved by year end.

Phase 2B, also at Bertam Lakeside, will offer 56 units of double-storey terrace houses.

Phase 2C will have 110 units of single- and double-storey bungalows and single- and double-storey semi-detached homes.

Pinggiran Bertam Perdana comprises 147 units of single-storey terrace houses and 104 low-cost cluster houses.

The township’s Keladi Business Point offers 24 units of double-storey office shop lots while the Bertam Walk urban centre will have 93 units of double- and three-storey office shop lots.

The double-storey office shop lots at Bertam Walk are priced from RM562,300 to RM896,600 each.

So far, 58 per cent of the units are sold.

The three-storey office shop lots are priced from RM836,600 to RM1.2 million each. To date, 40 per cent of the units are sold.

Roslan said Bertam Properties was aware of the need for affordable landed property.

“We are sensitive to the needs of the market and we have designed the township to give the people what they want,” he said.

He said Bertam Properties was targeting to have civil servants make up 50 per cent of the buyers and was expecting 75 per cent of the buyers to be from Seberang Prai Utara where the new township is located.
