He was accused of committing the offences in his house at Sri Pantai, Pantai Dalam here at about 2.30pm on Oct 19.

Prosecuting officer Assistant Superintendent of police Nom Phot Prackdit submitted for a just sentence.

"A father should be the protector of his children. However in this case, the accused had abused his own children which is a serious offence," he said.

The accused who was unrepresented pleaded for a minimum sentence as he is the sole breadwinner of the family and is currently job hunting.

"I plead for a fine to be imposed on me as I need to look for a job to support my family," he said.

Magistrate Nur Azura Murah sentenced the accused to eight months jail and fined him RM4,000 in default five months jail for each offence.

She ordered for the jail sentences to run concurrently beginning from the date of his arrest on Oct 20.

According to the case facts, on the day of the incident, the accused had angrily asked his children "Siapa yang telah habiskan biskut Tiger?" (Who finished the 'Tiger' biscuits?).

The next day, an officer from the welfare department came to the house after receiving a call made through the 'Talian Nur'.
