PM Najib to lead Malaysian delegation to WIEF in Dubai

PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak will lead the Malaysian delegation to the 10th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on October 28-30.

A Wisma Putra statement issued today said Najib who is also Finance Minister will be accompanied by his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor.

The Malaysian delegation will also comprise International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed, Foreign Affairs Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Othman Hashim and officers from the relevant ministries and government agencies.

As the Patron of the WIEF Foundation, the Prime Minister will deliver a special address during the opening session on October 28.

He is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest.

According to the statement, Najib is scheduled to attend the ‘Roundtable Meeting with Potential Investors’ and the launching of the Malaysia Agrofood Festival.

He will also witness the exchange of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) and agreements between local and international companies.

With the theme “Innovative Partnerships for Economic Growth”, the 10th WIEF will discuss the concept of innovative partnerships and how these partnerships can assist the economic development of Muslim countries and communities, as well as the global economic market.

More than 2,500 participants are expected to attend this year’s forum.-- BERNAMA
