Iranian drug kingpin nabbed, drugs worth RM1 million seized

KUALA LUMPUR: Federal Narcotics police scored a major success with the arrest of a drug kingpin, along with seven others in a series of raids in the city last week.

Three of those arrested were women, one of them a local, while the rest were Iranians, believed to be members of an international drug syndicate.

The Special Tactical Intelligence Narcotics Group (Sting) also seized 7.4kg of methamphetamine worth RM1.1 million following intensive investigations and surveillance.

Bukit Aman Narcotics Department director Datuk Seri Noor Rashid Ibrahim said police seized seven luxury cars from the syndicate members, as well as cash in multiple currencies - RM33,322, USD 4,000 and 150,000 Iranian rial.
