KLTM higher on 4th consecutive day

KUALA LUMPUR: The Kuala Lumpur Tin Market (KLTM) closed higher for the fourth consecutive day yesterday, and in tandem with gains on the London Metal Exchange (LME).

The KLTM ended US$80 higher at US$19,950 a tonne, while on the LME, the metal price rose US$250 to US$20,125 a tonne, with interest coming from Japanese, European and local traders.

On the KLTM, bids trounced offers by 88 tonnes to 37 tonnes, with the day’s turnover increasing to 49 tonnes from the 30 tonnes on Wednesday.

The price differential between the KLTM and LME reduced to a premium of US$180 a tonne against US$350 a tonne previously. Bernama
