MRT Project: Jalan Loke Yew slip road to close for two months

KUALA LUMPUR: The slip road from Jalan Loke Yew heading towards Jalan Cheras (Kuala Lumpur (KL)/Maluri-bound) near the Cheras roundabout will be temporarily closed for two months to facilitate the start of the MRT Sungai Buloh-Kajang Line construction works.

Mass Rapid Transit Corporation Sdn Bhd (MRT Corp), in a statement today, said the slip road would be closed from Monday to July 12 from 10 pm to 5 am daily.

It said motorists from Jalan Loke Yew intending to go to Jalan Cheras (KL-bound) were advised to use the Cheras roundabout heading towards Kajang and take the

fourth exit to Tesco Cheras at the Taman Billion roundabout.

Meanwhile, MRT director of strategic communications and public relations Amir Mahmood Razak said a temporary contra-flow traffic would be put in place at Jalan Damansara (KL-bound) from the traffic light junction at Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad to the former Caltex station starting Sunday until July 11 July from 11pm to 5am daily.

This is to facilitate segment launching works for the Taman Tun Dr Ismail MRT Station to accommodate movement of large machineries, he added.

"One traffic lane will be open along each direction (KL and LDP Highway-bound) during the contra-flow implementation," he said.

He said the Jalan Wan Kadir and Jalan Wan Kadir 3 junction with Jalan Damansara would be temporarily closed and inaccessible to traffic during the contra-flow

period and traffic diversions would be put in place to facilitate motorists passing through the areas. -- BERNAMA
